The Ministry of Home Affairs is pleased to advise the public that the Central Immigration and Passport Office under the Guyana Police Force, through the Government of Guyana, has rolled out the new Co-operative Republic of Guyana Ten-Years Passport, effective today, Monday, February 10, 2025. This initiative is a key component of His Excellency President Irfaan Ali’s vision for modernizing Guyana and enhancing service delivery for its citizens.

President Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali has expressed his disapproval and dismay at the verbal attack launched against the Guyanese diaspora who engaged him during his recent visit to New York, USA.
In a live broadcast Sunday evening, the head of state pointed to a release issued by the Rickford Burke-run Caribbean Guyana Institute for Democracy (CGID), which attempted to disparage the diaspora for its interactions with the president.
Some 16 Guyanese Private Sector companies were part of a Diaspora Job Fair in New York on Saturday seeking to recruit persons to take up vacant positions in their companies.
Foreign Secretary Robert Persaud, while delivering the keynote address, noted that this is a fulfillment of a commitment made by President Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali to host Job Fairs in different parts of the globe to reach out to the Guyanese diaspora.
As Senior Minister in the Office of the President with Responsible for Finance and the Public Service, Dr. Ashni Singh wrapped up his four-day visit to the United States of America (USA) yesterday, he met thousands of Guyanese in the Diaspora during the Caribbean Day celebration in Schenectady, New York. During the event, Dr. Singh delivered greetings to the event’s attendees from President Irfaan Ali and his Government.
